Any Questions?

Answers to frequently asked questions. If you don’t find an answer to your question here, feel free to contact me

Can I hire additional kit from you?
Yes. I regularly hire out my technical equipment. This includes a NewTek Tricaster TC1, a Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio HD, a Mackie 1402 VLZ4 Audio Mixer, full Reflecmedia Green Screen set up, 3 x Datavision LED 600 Panel lights and a portable autocue system.

If I don’t have the kit that you need myself, I can pass on the numbers of some great AV companies I’ve worked with over the years. They’ll be able to help you out.

Do you work with NewTek TriCaster’s only?
No. My main vision mixing and live streaming experience is with the NewTek TriCaster product range, which I’ve used almost daily for the past 6 years. I often use Blackmagic ATEM, LiveStream HD550’s and VMix software too.

Whatever the software that you’re using, I’ll be ready to roll after spending a few minutes with it.

Can you handle all the live video streaming?
I’ve handled TriCaster based live streaming projects for Edelman, Cambridge University Press and Siemens, and can project manage the entire live streaming of your event. I can recommend solutions ranging from public streams broadcast on YouTube and Facebook Live, to secure streams that are broadcast on password-protected video streaming sites.

What else could you help us with?
Having produced a wide range of conventional corporate videos, I can plan and manage your location shoots. I’ve also worked as a stage manager and a production assistant before on large corporate conferences, so these are other things that I can help you with.

I’m generally flexible and willing to do whatever it takes to ensure you get the best results out of your live event.

What are your travel and accommodation costs?
I own a van and I charge 45p per mile when using it on projects. I’m happy to organise my own overnight accommodation and I’m not precious about where I lay my head.

Hotel costs vary by location, but the average total accommodation (including food and drinks) is £125 a day.

Can you arrange the hire of additional members of crew?
Yes. I have a network of excellent freelance camera operators, sound engineers, and producers that I’ve built over the years. I can help you by hiring additional team members directly or recommending people for you to hire, depending on what works best for you.

Can you teach me how to use the TriCaster?
Yes. I offer training on the NewTek TriCaster product line and can offer professional training for groups and individuals. You can find out more by visiting the training page on this site or my separate training website at www.visionmixingtraining.uk.

Can you stream our event on Facebook Live?
Yes. I’ve handled Facebook Live streaming events for companies and agencies across the UK and can help you at every stage of the production.

Can you edit something that has already been recorded?
Yes. I’m comfortable editing any material captured at a live event using Adobe Premiere. This regularly includes editing Q&As, key presentations, Award Ceremonies and green screen virtual set content into completed videos.

Do you work overseas?
Yes. I’ve worked on projects in the USA and mainland Europe before and I’m more than happy to travel overseas on projects.

If it isn’t cost effective for me to travel with all my kit, I can recommend suppliers in the USA and Europe who hire out TriCasters and other AV kit to help keep the overall budget down.
